Are You a Student
Interested in STEM?
Want to explore the fundamentals of designing, engineering, programming, teamwork, and more? Join us in a unique educational experience taught by experienced and award-winning VEX teams! No prior experience is needed.
Why Join?
Students of the DVHS Summer Camp will have the opportunity to learn practical engineering, physics, and programming skills through intriguing robotics curriculum. All skills learned can be applied to benefit them in a future in STEM.
Grouped in teams with a diverse range of students, members will need to complete challenges, program hardware, and build an original robot of their own from scratch. While working to compete against others in a final tournament, teams will need to utilize their cooperation and problem-solving in order to reach the final results.
This summer camp is taught by mentors with world-class robotics experience in designing, building, and programming advanced robots. Qualifying consecutively to the VEX World Championships over the past 15 years, each mentor is highly trained to benefit the needs of the student.
This in-person program is open to students of all schools in the Bay Area. For future students of DVHS, this program will serve as a bridge to prepare students for the high school-level robotics we have to offer while enjoying their summer through participation in a variety of fun STEM-related activities!
There will be one session (AM). Sessions will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8 am to 12 pm. Signups are limited so sign up fast! Payments can be made on the DVHS Webstore under the DVHS Robotics Tab (linked below).

How is our Program Structured?
Our program focuses on new topics on a weekly-basis with a new lesson taught every day. Students will apply the wide-range of engineering concepts in these interactive lessons in order to create their own robots and compete in mini tournaments. Every team will have their very own mentor designated to them to guide the students through the hands-on activities, actively engage them through the learning, and assist them with their educational needs.
Along with building concepts, programming makes up a significant part of our curriculum. Students will learn how to code a variety of subsystems on their robots utilizing the VEX Code platform. Students will also compete in autonomous challenges in which their robots will run individually without driver control. The highest performing programmers of DVHS Robotics will be guiding the students through these concepts to ensure knowledge is pertained.
Activities utilize VEX IQ robotics kits, which are tailored to students who are just getting started in robotics. IQ contains plastic components that are great for building robots ranging with simple to sophisticated systems.
